Recoup Privacy Policy
Recoup is built on one promise: your claims, photos, and paperwork stay on your device. This policy explains what that means in the terms most privacy policies use.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We collect none. Recoup has no Recoup account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no crash reporting. The Android app does not request internet permission, so it is technically unable to send data anywhere. Your one-time purchase is handled entirely by Google Play (or, later, the App Store) using their own account system, not ours.
Information you enter (your name and mailing address for matching invoices, claim details, photos of invoices/UPCs/labels/review screenshots) is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We, Cardinal Hosting Solutions LLC, never see it, receive it, or have any way to access it.
2. Tracking Technologies
No cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
3. How Your Information Is Used
Only to do the app's job on your device: building the mailing-packet checklist you print or share, tracking your claim deadlines, and scheduling local reminders. Reminders are generated and delivered by your device, not by a server.
4. How Information Leaves Your Device
Only when you send it, and only where you send it: printing a packet uses your device's print service; sharing a packet PDF or CSV export uses your device's share sheet or file dialog and goes to the app, folder, or person you pick; opening a manufacturer's official rebate form uses your own browser. We are not a party to any of those transfers and receive nothing from them.
5. Device Backups
If you use your device's backup service (Google backup on Android, iCloud backup on iOS), the app's data may be included in that backup, stored in your own Google or Apple account under their privacy policies. That backup belongs to you and protects your records if your phone is lost or replaced; we have no access to it. You can exclude the app or turn backups off in your device settings.
6. Third-Party Services
The manufacturer rebate forms and trackers you're sent to are websites run by those manufacturers, opened in your own browser at your request; what you enter there is governed by their privacy policies, not this one. The app store you installed from (Google Play or the App Store) collects its own purchase and install information under its own privacy policy, including processing your one-time unlock purchase; we receive only the store's standard anonymized sales reporting, never anything from inside the app.
7. Sharing With Third Parties
We share nothing with anyone, because we have nothing to share.
8. Retention and Deletion
Your records stay on your device until you delete them. Deleting a claim removes it, along with its photos, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. We keep no copies, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
9. Security
Your data is protected by your device's own storage isolation. Because nothing is transmitted or stored on servers, there is no server-side data to breach. Protect your device and your printed packets as you would any paperwork containing your name and address.
10. Children
The app is a tool for adult purchasers and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, children included.
11. Changes to This Policy
If a future version of the app ever changes what happens to your data, we will update this policy and say so plainly in the app's release notes before the change takes effect.
12. Your State Privacy Rights
State privacy laws give residents rights over personal information a business collects about them. We collect none, sell none, and share none, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete, or opt out of on our side. The records on your phone are already fully in your control.
